The new UK prudential regime for investment firms (IFPR), which comes into force in January 2022, represents a significant change to how UK-domiciled MiFID investment firms will be regulated. Based on the EU Investment Firms Directive, and specifically designed for investment firms rather than systemically important banks, the IFPR introduces a broad range of new requirements for investment firms.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the IFPR’s requirements in key areas, including:
- capital requirements (K-factors and the fixed overheads requirement)
 - liquidity requirements
 - the Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA)
 - remuneration
 - regulatory reporting
