ETF Assets and Net Issuance
November 2024
Washington, DC, December 30, 2024—The combined assets of the nation’s exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were $10.55 trillion in November, according to ICI. The Institute’s monthly statistical collection also includes the value of shares issued and redeemed by exchange-traded funds.
Statistics contained in the Institute’s monthly ETF report have been obtained from information provided to ICI by exchange-traded funds and commodity funds. Commodity funds are listed in the Domestic (Sector/Industry) category.

Highlights: Assets of all exchange-traded funds rose in November by $619.24 billion, or 6.2 percent, to $10.55 trillion. Over the past 12 months, ETF assets increased $2.92 trillion, or 38.3 percent. Assets in domestic equity ETFs increased $2.29 trillion since November 2023, and global equity ETF assets rose $243.60 billion during this period. At the end of November 2024, assets of bond funds were $1.78 trillion and hybrid funds were $40.96 billion and commodity funds were $172.33 billion.
During November, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $156.66 billion. In November 2023, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $105.39 billion.
