PLANT A TREE IN ISRAEL
 
Israeli astronaut, Ilan Ramon, said
"I call upon every Jew in the world to plant a tree in the land of Israel during the coming year"
 
Fulfill Ilan Ramon's dream by buying a tree in Israel for $10.
 
Help us reach our goal of 500 trees, which will buy 5 Penn "gardens" in Israel.
Trees will be for sale at Hillel, Irvs, and on Locust Walk

PennPAC WEDNESDAY MEETINGS

PennPAC has begun weekly Wednesday meetings, lasting half an hour each.

 

March 26: Voting on changing PennPAC's election pattern, 
(we need a "quorum" of active members in order to vote, so please try to attend).

 

Each meeting will include a news update, events update, and an activism piece.

ISRAEL CAFE - ISRAELI SONGS OF PEACE

In a 45 minute performance, trace Israel's tumultuous history songs of peace.

All songs will be translated related to Israeli culture and Israel's desire for peace.

Penn's first Israeli Film Festival

 

Chochmat HaBaygela, "Pretzel Wisdom"

A cinematic adaptation of the cult Israeli novel of the same name, Pretzel Wisdom follows the life of Golan and a group of his late 20-something friends. About to graduate and forced to look for a job, Golan feels he is being sucked into a meaningless yuppie lifestyle until he meets his best friend's provocative and uninhibited sister. A colorful and humorous look into the lives of young people in modern-day Tel-Aviv.

HaChaverim Shel Yana, "Yana's Friends"

A very popular movie in Israel, Yana’s Friends is both a love story and a comedy. Set against the backdrop of the Gulf War Scud missile attacks, it tells three parallel stories. Yana is a young Russian woman who is part of the wave of immigration to Israel. She shares an apartment with Eli, an Israeli wedding photographer with a passion for women. Then there is Rosa the landlord, along with their ill- tempered neighbors Arik and his wife.
